Florida!

I went on my very first trip to Florida! Daddy, Mommy and I went to visit Daddy's cousin Janel and her family.  We went there because Daddy is the godfather of Janel's new baby, Maclairen. The baptism was on Sunday, but we decided to take a long-weekend to visit and enjoy the warm weather!

I got to go on an airplane for the very first time! 

 At the airport, the TSA people loved me! They made me laugh and especially liked my airplane shirt!  Since we arrived early, I got pushed around the airport in my stroller; I liked looking at all of the people!

Once we got on the plane, I looked around at all of the people for a few minutes, then I fell asleep!

When I woke up, I looked out the window and played with my toys.

We met Aunt Jen in Atlanta. She flew with us to Florida. When we arrived, I got to see the sunshine and palm trees. It was beautiful!  

We went to Janel's house and I got to meet Maclairen, who is 6 weeks old.  She let me play with her baby toys.

I also got to meet MacKenzie, who is 5 years old. She loved playing with me! She gave me lots of hugs and tickles. I liked smiling at her and pulled her hair.

Later that night, I was very tired from my big day of traveling.  When we all went out to dinner, the babies slept through all the noise!

When we got home, I woke up to play with everyone.  We changed into our pajamas!

The next morning, we took a walk. It was a little windy, so I bundled up in my blanket.

Later that day, I got to visit the beach for the very first time!!

I liked wearing my sunglasses and put a hat on later because it was a little windy.

Baby Beach Bum!

After the beach, we went to the shops at downtown St. Augustine. I slept through most of it!

We had a cook-out afterwards. It was fun to be around a lot of new family members.

On Sunday, I got dressed up to go to Maclairen's baptism. 

I was a good boy during the baptism ceremony.

After the baptism, we went out to eat to celebrate. I liked looking around at all of the pictures on the walls!

Our long weekend went by very quickly and soon it was time to go home again. It was great to meet some of Daddy's aunts, uncles and cousins. We even got to visit with Mommy's friend Erika!

I liked getting pushed around the airport in Florida!

I had a wonderful trip! I hope I get to go back to Florida again some time soon!

Piano

During my visit at Grandma Lynn's house, I kept looking at the piano. So, she took me over to it to show me how it works! I am used to playing my big piano with my feet, but this is much different! Take a look at my beginner's skills!

I am not a Vegetarian!

Now that I am 6 months old, I get to try different foods! I went to the store with Mommy and picked out some interesting flavored stage-2 baby food. These foods are a whole meal pureed into one little container. They are a lot thicker, too.
Many people ask my parents if they are planning to raise me as a vegetarian since Mommy doesn't eat meat.  Well, the answer is no and I tasted meat for the first time last night! My dinner was turkey with sweet potatoes.

At first, I thought maybe Mommy has the right idea, but after a while, I got the hang of it!

6-month check-up!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 6 month check-up.  I got lay on the paper bed again; by the time I was done with my appointment, the paper was torn to pieces because I was kicking my legs so hard! 

The doctor thought my looks were maturing and the nurse could not stop talking about how beautiful my eyes are (I like to think they are handsome)! I was a tough guy during my three shots; I only cried for a few seconds before Daddy and Mommy made me smile.

Weight: 17 pounds 10 ounces

Height: 26.5 inches

Just as we had suspected, I am still a healthy baby boy!

Happy Birthday, Grandma Penny!

Yesterday was Grandma Penny's birthday!  Daddy, Mommy and I went to her house to celebrate.  I got to play with her and Grandpa Mike.  I helped her blow out her birthday candle and was amazed with the smoke floating in the air; I couldn't take my eyes off of it!

We had a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is my Daddy's birthday! This morning, I gave him a gift and a card.

I gave him sunglasses that I helped to pick out! (Mommy held up one pair of sunglasses at a time. I didn't smile at any of the glasses except for the ones that we got for Daddy!)

Later in the day, we sang "Happy Birthday" to him!

I hope my Daddy has a very happy birthday!

6 Months Old!

I am 6 months old today!  I am officially half of a year old! We spent the whole day celebrating!

First, I got my 6-month pictures taken:

 Then, we had a half-birthday party! Mommy decorated the dining room and made me a half-birthday cake!

My stuffed animals were invited to help me celebrate!

Everyone sang "Happy Half-Birthday" to me!

I didn't get to eat any of the cake, but I got to have pears (my favorite!) in a special birthday boy bowl!

I can't believe that I have been alive for half of a year!  It has been an amazing 6 months; I'm looking forward to see what the rest of my first year will be like!

Where are you, teeth?

I am constantly rubbing my gums. I suck and chew on my fingers, I shove teethers in my mouth, and I attempt to put anything within reach in my mouth.  I am working very hard to get teeth to pop out! 

I use my hands as a teether...

 I use contraptions that my parents give me...

I take breaks from eating to chew on my fingers or the spoon...

And, I even try to get things in my mouth that won't reach!

Hopefully, my toothless-smile will have a little Chicklet tooth popping out soon!

Hair Do

When my hair is wet from my bath, it holds any style! 

My hair is growing quickly; especially on top!

One popular bath-time do is the mo-hawk. 

Whether it is a hair-do or a hair-don't, it makes bath time extra silly!

Doggy Game

The cold and snowy weather is back!  Mommy and I have been trying to find fun things to do in the house.  I absolutely love the new game we created!  I get to ride in a big-boy umbrella stroller; it's different than my normal stroller because I sit up and I face forward!  I get pushed around the house in my stroller and chase Delilah!  When we get close to the dog, I laugh and laugh and laugh! Sometimes, Delilah wins and we can't catch up with her as she hides behind the couch.  Either way, it is a very fun game!

Giggles!

One of my parents' favorite sounds has become the sound of my little giggles!  I get excited by their smiling faces or a tickle and I start laughing.  The sound of my "he-he-he-he" along with my big open-mouthed grin and closed eyes are a sight that is sure to put a smile on anyone's face.

Face Time

We surprised my Daddy with an iPad as an early gift for his birthday.  He was very excited about it, but I had no idea how much I would be using it, too!  It has taken my family and friend visits to a whole new level! Using Face Time, I am able to see people who are somewhere else while I am right at home!  I get to laugh at Uncle Nick's peek-a-boo, get extra sleepy while Grandma Lynn sings me a song, get virtual-kisses from Aunt Lindsey, and show friends from out-of-town how big I am getting!  The best part is that my family and friends get to see me--live-- on days when they normally would not get a chance to visit!  It's not going to replace our visits, but it's a fun way to keep connected!  

Bouncing Baby!

On a daily basis, one of my favorite things to do is to bounce in my bouncer!  At first, I needed to put a mat down so my feet would hit the ground.  Now, I have no problem touching the ground and I bounce as hard as I can!  I love looking at the toys all around me and watching the bright lights.  Sometimes, I surprise myself with how high I can bounce.  I laugh and babble until I've had enough; I let my parents know when I'm done and ready to rest.  It is one of my current favorite toys!

It's a beautiful day!

During the past few days, I got to see the sunshine a lot!  Since it's winter, it has been very cold and cloudy, so the warmer weather has been a nice change!  I even got to get bundled up and go on a walk; I forgot how much I enjoy walks!  

Mommy and Daddy tell me that the snow will be here again soon.  Until then, I'll keep smiling at the bright blue sky! 

pacifier song

I love my pacifier! Now that I am teething, I have found a few more ways to use my paci. I put all ends of it in my mouth. And, it is fun to hold and spin around in my hands. I spend lots of time putting it in my mouth and taking it out of my mouth.

Silly Doggy!

People often ask my parents about how our dog, Delilah, interacts with me. The truth is that she pretty much ignores me.  Recently, I've been paying more attention to her.  I watch her while she walks by and reach for her when she's close.  I'm very amused by her, no matter what she is doing.

Here is a video of me with Delilah.  Delilah doesn't really want anything to do with me, even when Mommy tries to invite her to play with us.  I think Delilah is silly!

Playing in my Sleep

 I must have been having fun dream yesterday during my nap, because while I was sleeping, I reached over and got a hold of my new ball with my finger!

I brought it in close and cuddled with it.

I slept through all of this! I even slept through my Mommy gently taking it out of my hand so I could sleep peacefully. 

I'm a silly boy... even while I am asleep! 

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Mike!

Sunday was not only New Year's Day, it was also Grandpa Mike's birthday!

 We went to his house to celebrate! I had lots of fun kicking and playing with Grandpa Mike!

Grandma Penny held me while I took a nap. I was still pretty sleepy when I woke up, so I used her head as a pillow!

Happy New Year!

I celebrated my first New Year's Eve on Saturday. I got dressed up in my tuxedo for the big night! 

I celebrated the new year with my Daddy and Mommy! We had lots of fun!

 

My parents told me that 2012 was coming at midnight.  I looked at my rattle-watch and realized that midnight was way past my bedtime! So, I slept through the big celebration. 

 I am looking forward to a great 2012!
